Casey Bishop, who came in fourth place during Season 19 of American Idol earlier this year, recently signed a record deal and is in the process of writing and recording songs for an upcoming EP. At just 16 years old, this is a big accomplishment.
Casey Bishop Signs Recording Contract with 19 Recordings
Casey reportedly signed with 19 Recordings and publishing partner BMG around four months ago. The label has been connected to American Idol since the first season, when winner Kelly Clarkson signed with RCA Records and 19 Recordings in 2002. Other stars such as Carrie Underwood and Jordin Sparks also signed with them.
“It was really great,” Casey told the News-Press of her record deal. “Because I was like, ‘OK, now I actually, for sure, 100 percent get to make music and get on a roll.’”
Casey is reportedly in the process of writing and recording songs in Los Angeles for an upcoming EP project. She’s apparently been working with producer and songwriter Chris Greatti since shortly after American Idol ended earlier this year. Casey said they’ve been “writing bangers” in the genre of alternative rock.

When Can We Expect to Hear Casey’s New Music?
Casey says the songs she’s writing have an angry feel to them, inspired by a breakup. We can reportedly expect to hear the new music starting early in 2022 — either select songs or the full EP.
In the meantime, Casey just appeared with fellow American Idol contestant Wyatt Pike at a John Fogerty concert at Hertz Arena in her hometown of Estero, Florida. Pike, who dropped out of the show after the Top 16, accompanied Casey on the guitar.
Casey had no performing experience when she auditioned for Season 19. She went on to impress the judges and viewers with her big voice and rocker style, performing songs such as “Black Hole Sun” and “Ironic.” She released the single “Love Me, Leave Me” earlier this year as part of her time on the show.
